Portuguese Country Training on Wildfires

The training will provide participants with practical insights into adaptation measures that have already been successfully implemented, including their governance arrangements, implementation processes, challenges faced, and lessons learned.  

• Location: Quinta da Eira do Sol (https://www.quintaeiradosol.com/), Gonça – Guimarães. 
• Date: 16 June 2026 
• Lead partner: FCID 

It will also bring together local and regional authorities, as well as participants from neighbouring town/municipalities to exchange experiences and applicability of solutions within their own territories. 

The session will: 

• Be conducted in the Portuguese language 

• Include interactive discussions and peer exchange 

• A site visit nearby learning from severe Wildfires in 2024 

• Include coffee breaks and lunch 

• Include a charter bus Guimarães – Gonça – Guimarães  

The event aims to create an engaging and collaborative environment where participants can reflect on practical pathways for strengthening wildfire resilience and explore opportunities for future cooperation and replication of successful approaches.
