Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How can I access the set of solutions?
REGILIENCE+ R(+) is identifying and curating 150 proven adaptation solutions, including case studies, tools, and methods emerging from the Mission ecosystem and beyond. Once a solution has been transferred into the required format, it will be published on Climate-ADAPT or the EU Mission on Adaptation Portal (Mission Portal). By supporting and informing existing portals and platforms, R+ contributes to making actionable knowledge and resources accessible for local authorities and communities.
*Climate-ADAPT is the EU platform for climate adaptation knowledge, managed by the European Commission and the European Environment Agency. The Mission Portal, managed by the European Commission and developed with the Mission Implementation Platform (MIP4Adapt), supports the EU Mission on Adaptation, with resources targeted particularly at regional and local authorities. These are the main European platforms where you can access solutions. ClimateScan is an open platform mapping climate adaptation projects and solutions internationally. Within R+, it provides an additional database for accessing the solutions collected by the project.
What types of resources and information can I find on the Adaptation Resources webpage?
The adaptation solutions included in the Adaptation Resources webpage are classified into 4 types:
- Case studies: implemented and initiatives to create and improve the enabling conditions for adaptation at all governance scales;
- Options: measures and strategies to adapt to climate change;
- Tools: decision-support instruments used in any stage of the Adaptation Support cycle;
- Adaptation Stories: real-life examples of regional or local actions and good practices regarding the planning, funding, implementing and monitoring of climate adaptation solutions.
Each solution in the Adaptation Resources webpage includes a short description and a link to the Mission Portal where the full content ca be accessed. If you have an adaptation solution that you would like to share with REGILIENCE+, please contact helpdesk@regilience.eu.
I would like to find more information about a specific solution. How can I access it?
The set of solutions include reference information (i.e., websites and available resources), and a contact point to follow up on updates or re-evaluations. Where available, you can directly reach out to the contact point indicated in the solutions.
REGILIENCE+ (R+) will These are intended as multilingual communication products, training materials, and hands-on services tailored to the specific needs of regional and local actors, in several languages.
Moreover, the R+ team is available to assist and help you access additional information and resources. You can send your request to: helpdesk@regilience.eu
What other repositories of solutions, tools and case studies are available?
The main European platforms where you can access more solutions are Climate-ADAPT and EU Mission on Climate Adaptation Portal (Mission Portal). These platforms also provide additional support and technical assistance to regions and local authorities across Europe, for instance on funding and financing and stakeholder mobilisation.
Besides transferring solutions to the Mission Portal and Climate-ADAPT, REGILIENCE+ will support other relevant platforms, such as WeAdapt or Climate Innovation Window.
I am interested in adaptation solutions from a specific country and would like to connect with local institutions, governance bodies, or public authorities. Where should I start?
REGILIENCE+ (R+) helps you discover and learn from practical adaptation actions implemented across Europe. As part of this work, R+ is developing a series of country highlighting practical adaptation solutions and experiences from different European countries*. Continuously published on the EU Mission on Adaptation Portal (Mission Portal) and shared through social media, the series starts with Portugal, with more countries to follow. .
If you would like to gain a deeper understanding of a country’s adaptation governance framework, coordination mechanisms, policies, stakeholders, and institutional arrangements, we recommend connecting with the relevant National Adaptation Hubs (NAHs).
Established through the EU-funded AdaptationHubs project, NAHs support coordination on climate adaptation, while helping national, regional and local governments to share solutions and strengthen their approaches to managing climate risks. Through these hubs, you can identify and connect with relevant public authorities, institutions, and experts involved in climate adaptation planning and implementation.
* Several complementary country-level resources are available. R+ country factsheets highlight practical adaptation solutions and experiences; AdaptationHubs country resources focus on national adaptation governance and relevant institutions; Mission Portal country profiles provide information on regional engagement with the EU Mission on Adaptation; and Climate-ADAPT country profiles provide information on national adaptation policies, strategies and reporting.

What eligibility criteria does REGILIENCE+ use to select climate adaptation solutions?
REGILIENCE+ (R+) applies the eligibility criteria used by Climate-ADAPT to ensure compatibility between the solutions developed by the project and the main European platforms. Before entering the development stage, each potential solution is screened against four main eligibility criteria:
- Clear relevance to climate change adaptation: the solution should significantly contribute to climate change adaptation.
- Actual Implementation: The solution should describe adaptation measures that have been fully implemented, or support the enabling conditions needed for adaptation.
- Accessibility and possibility for assessment and evaluation: Sufficient information should be available to assess and document the solution, and it should be possible to establish contact with relevant people involved in its development or implementation.
- Geographical scope: The solution should be implemented in an EEA member or eligible cooperating country for it to be published in Climate-ADAPT. For the Mission Portal, it should be implemented in a Mission signatory country.
