Open Seminar #3 : Understanding Nature Based Solutions

As communities around the world increasingly face the growing impacts of climate change, the integration of nature-based solutions (NbS) offers a sustainable and effective approach to enhancing resilience. The REGILIENCE project is pleased to announce its next Open Seminar dedicated to this vital topic. Scheduled to take place online on June 12th at 3:00 PM CET, this free seminar aims to provide citizens and stakeholders with the essential knowledge and practical tools to implement green infrastructure practices in their own neighbourhoods and communities.

What to expect

During the session, we will talk about:

  • What Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) are and how to implement green infrastructure practices in our communities.
  • Practical, scalable NbS strategies like green roofs, rain gardens, and permeable pavements, and how they manage stormwater, reduce flooding, and combat the urban heat island effect.
  • The benefits of NbS, including improved air and water quality, enhanced biodiversity, and more liveable urban spaces.
  • Case studies and best practices of successful NbS implementations in various communities.
  • Challenges and opportunities associated with implementing NbS.
  • Examples of how nature-based solutions have been successfully implemented in cities or towns.
  • Ways that technology can be used to support the implementation of nature-based solutions.
  • How to ensure that nature-based solutions are accessible to everyone in the community.

You’ll also be invited to take part in interactive sessions, including introductions via Slido and a dedicated Q&A to address your questions on implementing NbS.
